Personal Statement and Specialties
It
is my belief that what keeps us from taking that first step
toward “therapy”…is the fear that we will be judged, or the lack
of belief that we could ever be helped. Let me offer up a
thought….
To seek therapy is to seek relationship, and in any time of
trouble, need or transition…relationship matters.
My
style is one of supportive coaching in which you will
usually leave infused. I practice casually & comfortably &
invite you to do the same. I believe in
interactive-relationship whereby we both stimulate thoughts,
ideas, feelings, and emotions that quite often takes two
people to do. In other words, if you would like me to just
listen, I will; and there will be many times that is exactly
what is needed. Other times, however, when you request or
could be better served by interaction, conversation and
guidance, I will be “in it” with you…journeying by your
side. No matter how impossible it seems to shift from the
painful or confusing state you are in, it is possible. The
most important thing is that you maintain hope; and make
room for the joy and peace that you most certainly deserve.
I
graduated with a B.A. from San Diego State University. I
then later received my Master’s degree from John F. Kennedy
University. Along with running a dedicated private practice
(MFTI) here at Anthropos, I also practice as a life coach in
Pleasanton, CA. Although my previous career was as a
Business Strategist in the corporate world; this career
change was chosen very specifically and purposefully due to
tragedy that lead me to exactly where I now am. I am so
grateful for each and every client, each client relationship
I have the privilege to build, and the chance to be a part
of your navigation into wellness.
I
have expertise with divorce, teens, and family systems,
especially relationships that are challenged or even
estranged. I also specialize with youth, intimacy, sexual
identity, and anxiety. Particular areas of research that I
have specialized in are the personality disorders of
Tourette’s Syndrome and bipolar disorder (pediatric and
teens as well).
Every session, you can rely on a safe space where compassion
and non-judgement are consistent. I keep it real and
comfortable, and humor is always welcome.
This is your precious life. You only get one shot at making
it count. Take it!
