Personal Statement

I love my work as a therapist.  I am genuinely grateful to have and fully utilize the opportunity each day to bring strength, courage, gentleness, kind curiosity, and a real sense of welcoming to clients who are working hard at dealing with and making sense of their lives, their relationships, and their experiences.

I am deeply, and in a disciplined way, dedicated to walking the talk of what I do –  both personally and professionally; so I know first hand what it’s like to grapple with integrity in relationships & communication, and to own up to the pitfalls, shortcomings, & richness of being human.

In addition to my extensive study of the psychology of the individual (including 14 years a student of Gestalt Awareness Practice as developed by Dick and Christine Price), in the area of couples I have studied the Passionate Marriage and Quest of the Mythical Mate approaches (approaches developed by David Schnarch and Ellen Bader & Pete Pearson, respectively).  I have also studied Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, John Gottman’s Couples Theory, and Harville Hendrix’s Imago Therapy for Couples approaches, so I bring a richness, passion, and depth to my work with clients in emotionally committed relationships.

Please feel welcome to call me on my private client line: (925) 321-6992 or leave me a personal message on the Anthropos client line (925) 449-7925.  You can ask me questions and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit for any work you’d like to do and there’s no charge for your exploratory call.  Please be sure to say who you are and why you are calling if you leave a message so I can respond to your call appropriately.

I wish you well on your journey.
