My Treatment Approach:

I approach therapy with a survivor-sensitive and trauma-informed process for working with individuals and couples to find peace in their lives and meaning from their experiences.

My approach is one of compassion, mindfulness, and curiosity in an effort to co-create a path toward self discovery and healing.  I believe each person carries with them innate strengths and a felt longing for healing and recovery from events in life that can cause distress.  Underneath those hurts is an authentic heart with intentions to connect and feel loved; however, those same hurts can keep us from experiencing those loving attachments.  I hope to facilitate the healing process with gentleness and an awareness of how each person and each journey is unique.  I strive to create an environment where each person can nurture that “wounded healer” within and cultivate loving relationships that foster connection and caring.  For individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and overwhelming stress, we can gently explore the negative thoughts and beliefs that get in the way of fulfilling one’s potential.  We will incorporate techniques that can reduce the high levels of stress while carefully challenging the barriers that prevent us from reaching the core of who we are.

Areas of Focus:

  • Cultivate self-compassion and exploration leading to discovery of the true self
  • Healing and recovery from sexual and interpersonal traumas
  • Facilitate healing for couples who have experienced betrayal and high interpersonal conflict
  • Explore attachment patterns in order to better understand current ways of being in relationship with others
  • Cultivate compassionate communication and positive interpersonal relating
  • Exploring value and meaningfulness in life – an existential approach to feelings of emptiness and discouragement
  • Stress management and anxiety reduction utilizing mindfulness and relaxation techniques
  • Alleviate feelings and symptoms of depression by exploring negative core beliefs about self and the world
